Consumers Energy’s Connections Learning Lab is an exhibit dedicated to engaging company employees, new hires and interns, and potential vendors in the Utility company’s work and how it all relates. Many employees have limited understanding of Consumers Energy as a whole, particularly aspects outside of their expertise and daily work. The Connections Learning Lab teaches visitors about the fundamental aspects of the company, including its focus on customers and its great history of service and success.
The exhibit visually represents a three-dimensional flow diagram of Consumers Energy and the interrelated departments intersect and overlap. At the center of the space is the consumers module, illustrating how the company focuses on their customers. Through experiencing the exhibit, employees and visitors learn how to be ambassadors for Consumers Energy and how to tell their family, friends, and neighbors ‘across the fence’ what Consumers Energy is and does.
